『Art of the Rabbit's Resurrection』

As the inaugural event of the 1st Bling Bling Ocean Hong Kong Ocean Festival, 『Art of the Rabbit's Resurrection』 is co-created by artist Tree Leung and Bling Bling Ocean volunteers, aiming to raise public awareness and attention to marine ecology through a diverse range of activities. The 1.8-metre-tall outdoor art installation features a rabbit design, symbolizing resurrection during Easter, and is adorned with vibrant colours and sparkling decorations to share the joy of the holiday while prompting reflection on marine pollution.

The rabbit is crafted from marine debris (such as disposable plastics, discarded fishing nets, Styrofoam, and sea glass) that has been creatively repurposed, transforming waste into a medium that showcases the brilliance and fragility of marine ecosystems, calling on the public to re-examine their daily lives and consumption patterns. The artwork draws inspiration from the cycles of life in nature, conveying the relationship between the environment and sustainability in a humorous and captivating manner. This is not just a piece of art, but also an environmental symbol. Through this creation, artist Tree Leung hopes to attract more people to care about environmental conservation and sustainable development, encouraging proactive action to safeguard our zero-carbon future! Everyone is welcome to visit the meaningful eco-friendly rabbit art installation at Zero Carbon Building, Kowloon Bay, and strike a pose!
